👮 Police arrest 11 during intensive nationwide patrols and traffic checks in Cyprus

The Cyprus Police carried out extensive patrols across urban areas nationwide last night, focusing on preventing serious crimes and ensuring public order. These efforts resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals for offenses including illegal possession of drugs and anabolic substances, possession of stolen property, carrying knives, and other criminal activities.

Throughout the operations, authorities stopped and checked 554 drivers and 126 passengers, and conducted 43 inspections of business premises, leading to eight violations being reported. Additionally, traffic enforcement yielded 399 citations for various violations, including 104 speeding offenses; 19 vehicles were impounded. Alcohol and drug testing among drivers also resulted in multiple penalties.

The police have committed to continuing these targeted efforts daily, maintaining a heightened presence and rapid intervention to enhance citizens' sense of security and protect public order across Cyprus.
