Panos Panay, Senior Vice President for Devices, Alexa, and Leo at Amazon, will headline a fireside chat at the ‘Shaping the Next Digital Frontier’ conference in Nicosia on June 17. The session, titled ‘From Innovation to Real-World Impact,’ will focus on translating technological breakthroughs into practical economic and social value. The event is part of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union and will take place at the Filoxenia Conference Centre.

Panay, a prominent technology industry leader with a background at Microsoft and Amazon, will discuss challenges faced by companies in bringing new technologies to market and their integration into everyday life. Topics will include the evolving role of artificial intelligence and connected devices, highlighting Amazon’s recent AI-powered innovations such as Alexa+ and the Amazon Leo satellite network.

The two-day conference aims to gather policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs to explore Europe's digital future, including AI development, smart regulation, and digital competitiveness. The discussion will be moderated by Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist of the Republic of Cyprus and Chairman of the Research and Innovation Foundation.
