👮 Nine arrested in Paphos during drug operation seizing cannabis, cocaine, and other substances

Nine individuals were arrested in Paphos on Sunday during a police operation targeting drug possession. The operation, which lasted from 4pm to midnight, involved the drug squad, Paphos crime division, and special forces MMAD. Authorities seized 30.9g of cannabis, 11g of cocaine, 18g of methamphetamine, 4g of cannabis resin, 11g of synthetic cannabis, and two ecstasy tablets. Additionally, eight vials of anabolic substances, €5,510 in cash, a taser, a knife, and tobacco products were confiscated.

A 29-year-old driver was detained after police found a knife in his vehicle and further searches at his home uncovered more drugs and related items. A 23-year-old motorcyclist and a 19-year-old driver were also arrested during traffic checks for cannabis possession but later released with charges. In an apartment searched under court warrant, six people aged between 19 and 48 were found and arrested after police discovered various drugs.

Investigations are ongoing, with one suspect aged 19 set to appear at Paphos district court for a remand order. The remaining suspects were released pending further inquiries.
