🌍 President Christodoulides to Present Cyprus EU Presidency Outcomes at European Council Summit

President Nikos Christodoulides will showcase the accomplishments of Cyprus’s EU Presidency during the European Council summit in Brussels on June 18-19. The session will focus on European economic competitiveness and the upcoming EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034. Christodoulides will present alongside the Presidents of the European Parliament and the European Commission under the “One Europe, One Market” agenda.

A key highlight will be the presentation of the first negotiating text of the MFF for 2028-2034, which aims to guide the incoming Irish Presidency's work and foster agreement by year-end. European Council President António Costa emphasized progress on competitiveness, global economic challenges, and alignment of the EU’s ambitions with financial means through new own resources.

Additionally, EU leaders will discuss the opening of accession negotiation chapters for Ukraine and Moldova, the evolving situations in Ukraine and the Middle East—including Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon—and migration policy implementation. The summit will close with an economic working dinner aiming to build consensus on Europe’s future challenges.
