📰 President Christodoulides includes all parties in National Council meeting despite election losses
President Nikos Christodoulides announced that parties losing parliamentary representation in last month’s elections will still participate in upcoming National Council discussions. The meeting, set for June 22, will include both currently represented parties as well as those without seats, such as Edek, Dipa, and the Ecologists. This inclusive approach aims to ensure comprehensive political consultation on key national issues.
Christodoulides emphasized the importance of collective action during this critical period, underscoring the value of involving a broad spectrum of political leaders. Newly elected parties, including Alma and Direct Democracy, will also take part alongside established parliamentary groups. The National Council plays an advisory role to the President on the Cyprus issue and other significant national matters, highlighting the significance of broad collaboration across the political landscape.
