📰 Final CY-Alert test message for Cyprus scheduled on June 15, 2026
The Civil Defence Force announced that the last scheduled test message for the CY-Alert early warning system will be sent to mobile phones across Cyprus on Monday, June 15, 2026. This nationwide test is part of routine checks of the population early warning system conducted in a real operating environment. The alert, simulating a kidnapping or missing person scenario, will be sent between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. without the usual loud sound to prevent public alarm.
The test messages will clearly state either "TEST – TEST – TEST" or "EXERCISE – EXERCISE – EXERCISE," and the Civil Defence stressed that these alerts do not relate to any real incidents. Citizens are advised no action is needed upon receiving the message. To continue receiving CY-Alert notifications, users must ensure the relevant alert settings are enabled on their devices. Guidance on activation is available by contacting 1450 or through official videos on Civil Defence’s social media and website.
