📰 Cyprus Shines as Emerging Tech Hub at VivaTech 2026 in Paris
Cyprus reinforced its status as a growing technology and innovation hub during VivaTech 2026, held in Paris from June 17 to 20. Coordinated by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry through the Paris Trade Centre, Cyprus showcased five innovative local startups, attracting interest from international investors and major global groups.
The event, celebrating its tenth anniversary, attracted over 200,000 visitors from 165 countries and featured 15,000 startups, focusing on key themes such as Artificial Intelligence, Green Technology, and DeepTech. Notable figures like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee contributed keynote presentations.
Cyprus' participation aligns with national efforts to establish the island as a premier digital and technological gateway in the Eastern Mediterranean and Europe. The successful delegation highlighted the importance of international engagement to advance Cyprus' domestic innovation ecosystem amid a global showcase that included 4,500 exhibitors from around the world.
