Cypriot startup MammoCheck claimed first place in the National Bank of Greece’s 16th NBG Business Seeds Innovation and Technology Competition, emerging ahead of 344 entries from Greece, Cyprus, and abroad. The awards ceremony, held in Athens, highlighted innovative ventures in healthcare, artificial intelligence, fintech, and sustainable development.

MammoCheck is developing a portable, mobile phone-compatible medical device aimed at expanding access to preventive breast cancer screening. This technology supports early detection efforts and promotes a prevention-focused public health approach. The win underscores the strength and talent within Cyprus’ innovation ecosystem, demonstrating its capacity to create solutions with significant social impact and international potential.

The NBG Business Seeds programme, ongoing since 2010, fosters innovative entrepreneurship by providing funding, mentoring, and development opportunities in the region.
