👮 Third suspect arrested in Limassol opioid narcotics case

Police have arrested a third suspect, a 22-year-old man, in connection with a drug case involving opioid narcotics in Limassol. The man was apprehended on Sunday based on an outstanding court warrant and was found to be residing illegally in Cyprus, leading to an additional charge. Earlier, two other suspects, aged 23 and 21, were arrested after police discovered significant quantities of dried poppy pods in their possession and at a residence. The 23-year-old was stopped and searched on a street in Limassol, where officers found 418 grams of dried poppy pods. A subsequent search of his home uncovered eight packages totaling 1.682 kilograms. Both initial suspects have been remanded for eight days by the Limassol district court as the investigation continues.
