👮 Missing Bangladeshi student's body found in Kofinou after suspect's confession
A nine-day search for 22-year-old Bangladeshi student Shahruar Ahmed Emon ended tragically when police discovered his body in Kofinou. A 22-year-old foreign national was arrested on Sunday and confessed to abducting Emon, leading officers to a concealed location near the Kofinou migrant reception center and a slaughterhouse where the body was found.
Emon disappeared on June 12 after leaving his home in Oroklini to start his first day at a factory in Kofinou. He sent a location pin that night, but his phone signal was lost shortly after. The case escalated when his family received ransom demands totaling €35,000, with threats posted on social media.
Forensic teams are currently examining the site, and the police are working to verify the ransom messages as part of their ongoing investigation into the student's death.
