👮 Justice Minister Commends Police Officers, Reaffirms Commitment to Training and Professional Development
Justice Minister Costas Fitiris praised police officers for their dedication and reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing training and professional development at the police academy's graduation ceremony on Friday. Fitiris emphasized the importance of education and skills development as key elements of modern policing, aiming to build a modern, efficient, and humane police force capable of addressing contemporary challenges while maintaining public trust.
The ceremony also honored officers excelling in the Reward Cup competition, highlighting their effort, discipline, and perseverance. Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis and Academy Director Andreas Angelides stressed the critical role of knowledge, operational readiness, and education in equipping officers to respond competently and responsibly to evolving security demands.
During the academic year, the academy conducted 107 training programs involving 3,572 officers, with additional specialized training for public service participants and international cooperation involving 92 officers. The academy continues its modernization initiative to upgrade education and enhance the police force's capabilities.
