👮 Police conduct nationwide patrols in Cyprus resulting in 3 arrests and numerous traffic violations

Cyprus police intensified their presence across the country during the past night with organized patrols in key urban areas aimed at preventing serious crimes and ensuring public order. These preventive operations led to the arrest of three individuals for various offenses, including illegal residence and unlawful employment within the Republic of Cyprus.

During the night, authorities stopped 895 vehicles and checked 1,125 drivers and passengers. Seventy-one inspections of premises resulted in 16 violations. Traffic enforcement efforts yielded 309 fines, including 80 for speeding. Additionally, 466 alcohol tests identified 33 drivers over the limit, while four drug tests produced three positive results. Police also impounded 22 vehicles during the operations.

The police indicated that these crime prevention and suppression operations will continue daily with enhanced patrols, targeted checks, and rapid action to protect the public and maintain law and order.
