Cypriot entrepreneur Gregoris Loizou has created Swallow, a specialty coffee café in Alicante that has been named one of the best in Spain. After experiencing burnout in London and relocating with his wife to Alicante, Loizou decided to establish a coffee shop that combines Mediterranean warmth with a passion for specialty coffee. Swallow fills a notable gap in Alicante’s growing specialty coffee scene, offering a welcoming atmosphere and quality coffee culture.

Loizou spent a year searching for the perfect location, renovating an old bar in Alicante's historic center to create a modern, plant-filled space evoking calmness and community. His passion for coffee, combined with lessons learned in London, helped build a unique café experience that blends Cypriot hospitality with Spanish lifestyle.

Ranked among approximately 4,500 candidates nationwide, Swallow’s recognition is a testament to the dedication of Loizou and his team. Loizou hopes to develop Swallow into a lifestyle brand and expand internationally, while staying connected to his Cypriot roots and introducing customers to elements of Cypriot coffee culture.
