🏗️ Proposed Elevated Railway Network Aims to Tackle Limassol Traffic Congestion
A new elevated railway network proposed for Limassol aims to alleviate the city's worsening traffic problems. The plan, introduced by Limassol deputy mayor Dimos Katsis, envisions connecting key areas including Yermasoyia, the city centre, the marina, and the western districts through an advanced public transport system. Digital creator Marinos Protopapas highlighted that the railway would provide a greener, faster, and more sustainable alternative to the current transport options.
Protopapas emphasized that this infrastructure could significantly ease chronic congestion on Limassol's roads while addressing the city's future mobility needs. The elevated design is intended to reduce travel times and improve accessibility across major urban zones, making it a potentially transformative solution for local commuters and the environment alike.
