Two women tragically lost their lives while swimming near breakwaters in the Oroklini marine area on Thursday. They vanished from sight after entering the water with friends, prompting a significant search and rescue operation by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC). Rescuers found them unconscious and brought them ashore, but they were pronounced dead on arrival at Larnaca General Hospital.
