👮 Larnaca Police Investigate Ransom Messages in Kidnapping Case of Missing Student Sahruar Ahmed Emon
Larnaca police are investigating online ransom messages linked to the disappearance of 22-year-old Bangladeshi student Sahruar Ahmed Emon. The messages reportedly demand €10,000 Sunday and €25,000 Monday from a named recipient, warning that revealing the situation will result in Emon never being seen again. Authorities are currently verifying the messages' authenticity.
Emon was last seen on June 12 when he left his home in Oroklini for his first day of work near Kofinou, where his phone’s last signal was detected. Unknown persons contacted his father demanding ransom shortly after, but no further communication has been received since then. Police continue to search the area, reviewing bus routes and CCTV footage for clues.
Officers urge anyone with information to contact the CID Larnaca or the Citizen’s Line. Searches and investigations are ongoing as efforts intensify to find Emon and confirm the details surrounding his disappearance.
