🍽️ Cyprus promotes halloumi and traditional foods at REGAL Branchentreff 2026 in Vienna

Cyprus showcased its protected-origin and traditional food products at the REGAL Branchentreff 2026 trade event in Vienna, highlighting halloumi, commandaria, zivania, and local wines such as Xynisteri, Maratheftiko, and Mavro. A halloumi tasting session featuring fresh and dried fruits and vegetables attracted significant interest, demonstrating diverse ways to enjoy the cheese.

Organized by REGAL Verlagsgesellschaft, the event is a key gathering for Austria’s retail and food-supply sector and gathered importers, supermarket chains, wholesalers, buyers, and senior executives. Officials from the Federal Economic Chamber, Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs, and Ministry of Agriculture also attended, along with Cyprus’s ambassador to Austria, Andreas Ignatiou.

The Cyprus Energy, Commerce and Industry Ministry said participation in the event helped to forge new business contacts and strengthen existing relationships within the Austrian food and beverage market, further promoting Cypriot products' presence in Central Europe.
