Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis met with Maria Angela Olgin, the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus, in Athens on Wednesday. During the meeting, Gerapetritis reaffirmed Greece's support for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' efforts to find a comprehensive, just, and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem, in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The Greek foreign minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum achieved over the past two years concerning the Cyprus issue. He also highlighted that Greece, in full agreement with the Republic of Cyprus, remains ready to contribute constructively to the next steps aimed at restarting talks based on the agreed framework under UN auspices.

Olgin's visit to Athens follows her recent meetings in Cyprus with the President of the Republic and the Turkish Cypriot leader, as well as a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister, continuing diplomatic efforts to advance the Cyprus peace process.
