💊 Survey reveals high patient satisfaction with Gesy personal doctors, highlights communication and accessibility issues
A recent nationwide survey by the Cyprus Federation of Patients’ Associations (Osak) found that patients generally express high levels of satisfaction and trust in their Gesy personal doctors. The survey, based on 1,337 responses across all districts, revealed that 93% of patients have been registered with the same doctor for over a year and 96% reported their needs were met during their most recent appointment.
Despite positive feedback, the survey identified areas needing improvement, particularly in communication and accessibility. About 25% of respondents cited communication difficulties as a reason for changing doctors, while 20% were dissatisfied with doctor behavior. Only 53% of participants could secure an appointment the same or next day, although 87% considered waiting times appropriate.
Osak recommended enhancing communication channels, upgrading the Gesy digital portal, and promoting preventive healthcare through better advice on screenings and vaccinations. The federation highlighted the importance of the personal doctor system as the cornerstone of primary healthcare and stressed that addressing these challenges could reduce pressure on emergency departments.
