CYPRadar 🇨🇾👮 Police conduct extensive nationwide operations resulting in 13 arrests and numerous traffic violations
The Cyprus Police carried out intense and organized patrols across the country last night, targeting serious criminal activities and aiming to maintain public order and enhance citizens' sense of safety. These operations led to the arrest of 13 individuals for offenses including identity fraud, illegal employment, failure to appear in court, motorcycle arson, and various traffic violations.
During the night-time operations, 1,084 drivers and 297 passengers were stopped and checked. Simultaneously, 36 inspections were conducted on business premises, resulting in two complaints. Traffic enforcement yielded 816 tickets for various violations, including 208 for speeding and 109 for using handheld devices while driving. Nine vehicles were impounded, and 173 alcohol tests led to 11 citations, with two drivers testing positive in preliminary drug screenings.
Police emphasize that these preventive and enforcement activities will continue daily, with increased police presence and targeted checks to ensure public safety and order throughout Cyprus.
