Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas officially opened the Cypriot pavilion at the Eurosatory 2026 defence and security exhibition in Paris, showcasing Cyprus’ growing defence industry. The national pavilion, supported by the ministry, features several Cypriot defence companies demonstrating the country’s commitment to enhancing its international defence profile.

Palmas highlighted Cyprus’ participation as clear evidence of progress in research, innovation, and emerging technologies, which the ministry sees as critical to future defence capabilities. He emphasized the strategic importance of investing in these technologies to adapt to evolving operational environments.

In addition to the pavilion opening, Palmas was set to sign an agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA) on exchanging and protecting classified information, marking a significant step in deepening Cyprus-ESA collaboration on strategic security priorities.
