President Nikos Christodoulides has assured the public that the government will take all necessary actions to ensure a full investigation following the anti-corruption authority’s report on corruption allegations detailed in the Mafia State book. The report implicates former president Nicos Anastasiades and others as potentially criminally liable for abuses of power while in office.

Christodoulides emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that the government is waiting for the Legal Services to release their conclusions before proceeding with any steps. He reassured citizens that all actions will be conducted within the framework of the constitution and relevant laws.

The investigation stems from claims made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis, a former advisor to Anastasiades, who exposed alleged corruption in his published book. The anti-corruption authority’s findings highlight serious concerns about abuse of power by Anastasiades during his tenure.
