🔥 Fire in Kallepia area burns 10 hectares of vegetation in Paphos district
A fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon near Kallepia in the Paphos district, burning approximately ten hectares of dry grass, wild vegetation, and waste materials. The fire brigade received the call at 6:20 pm and deployed four fire engines, bringing the blaze under control by 7:51 pm. Although the air firefighting squadron was on alert, no aerial assistance was required.
Multiple organizations, including the game fund, Kallepia community council, and volunteer groups Atlas and Blue Heart, assisted in the firefighting efforts. Authorities believe the fire originated near an illegal dump along a rural road. On the same day, the fire brigade responded to 32 calls between 6 am Tuesday and 6 am Wednesday, including 15 fire incidents.
