🎉 Nicosia Hosts Cultural Events Including Tribute to Poet Alkis Alkeos and Cyprus Bloomsday Festival
Nicosia is bustling with cultural activities on Tuesday, June 16, featuring a variety of events that celebrate local and international arts and heritage. Aygristo Kefali — The Alkis Alkeos I Knew, a tribute based on Miltos Paschalidis’s book, will be staged at Archontiko Axiotheas with actor Giorgos Evagorou and musicians performing songs that shaped the poet’s journey.
Meanwhile, the 5th Cyprus Bloomsday Festival will take place at ARTos House Rooftop, honoring James Joyce and his novel Ulysses through bilingual readings by renowned Irish tenor Morgan Crowley and local actors, accompanied by live music. In addition, a lecture on divided Nicosia’s cultural heritage will be held at Leventis Municipal Museum, focusing on the city's history and future vision in memory of former Mayor Lellos Demetriades.
Other ongoing events include the “Images and Aspects of Alternative Cinema” Festival at Hambis Printmaking Museum and multiple art exhibitions around the city.
