🧒 STEM Racing Programme Inspires Primary Students Across Cyprus with Hands-On Science Activities
An educational initiative led by teachers, in collaboration with the National Coordinator of the STEM Racing programme, has successfully engaged primary school students in Cyprus with interactive STEM activities. The campaign began with a visit to Aradippou D’ Primary School, providing students with demonstrations in physics, engineering, and aerodynamics, followed by visits to four additional schools and an event hosted at American Academy Larnaca.
Students participated in hands-on experiments emphasizing reaction time and the practical applications of engineering concepts. A highlight of the programme was the opportunity to race compressed-air-powered cars reaching speeds up to 40 km/h, which sparked enthusiasm and provided tangible insight into scientific principles.
The initiative, endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, aligns with American Academy Larnaca’s commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in STEM. By bringing educational experiences both into schools and on its campus, the programme aims to inspire the next generation in science, technology, engineering, and innovation fields.
