President Nikos Christodoulides completed a state visit to India, meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, and saw the announcement of a Bollywood film to be shot and produced entirely in Cyprus. During the trip he laid a wreath at the Taj Mahal Palace memorial for the 2008 attack victims and accepted traditional garments—two Nehru jackets—gifted by Indian hosts, wearing a grey jacket in Mumbai and a navy blue jacket in New Delhi.

Ceremonial welcomes included dancers, military honours and red-carpet receptions, while business events at the Cyprus-India forum focused on commercial ties. The press delegation experienced tight security and restricted access at Hyderabad House and Rashtrapati Bhavan, with journalists temporarily held and limited in their ability to film. The Cypriot delegation received gifts including a painting of the president’s parents and a photo album before returning to Cyprus.
