Direct Democracy of Cyprus leader Fidias Panayiotou urged voters to continue taking part in Sunday polling after casting his ballot at Meniko Primary School. Speaking briefly to reporters, he called on the public to remain engaged throughout the day and thanked those working at polling stations for their efforts.

Panayiotou said the elections could mark a change in public engagement with politics and expressed optimism about turnout, saying “today I think we will turn a page in the future of democracy in Cyprus.” He highlighted the momentum from recent electoral contests as a positive sign for sustained participation.

He reiterated his appreciation for both polling staff and voters and encouraged continued turnout as counting proceeded, stressing the importance of public involvement in shaping the island’s democratic future.
