📰 Midday turnout 49.8% as 285,502 cast ballots, up 4.7 points from 2021

By 3:00 p.m. today a total of 285,502 voters had cast their ballots, raising the nationwide turnout to 49.8 percent of eligible electors, official figures from the Chief Electoral Officer show. Participation is up 4.7 percentage points compared with the same hour in the 2021 legislative elections. Election officials reminded voters that polling stations remain open until 6:00 p.m. and urged citizens to vote earlier rather than waiting until the last hour to avoid overcrowding.

Regionally, Famagusta recorded the highest participation at 53.9 percent, followed by Nicosia at 52.4 percent and Paphos at 51.2 percent. Limassol reported the lowest domestic turnout at 44.9 percent, while Larnaca stood at 49.4 percent and voters abroad at 46.2 percent. The pancyprian total of 49.8 percent contrasts with previous contests such as the 2021 legislative and 2023 presidential elections, reflecting shifts in voter engagement.
