🌊 Temporary fence erected around Cape Greco sea caves after rock instability warnings
A temporary fence has been erected around the sea caves at Cape Greco National Forest Park to prevent injuries from people diving off the rocks and to protect rescue teams, the Forestry Department said. The barrier is also intended to secure a rock formation in the area that has shown signs of instability and may crumble, posing a danger to visitors.
The fence was placed following meetings with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, the Geological Survey Department, the Environment Department and the Fire Brigade. The Forestry Department urged the public to obey signage, avoid risky activity on the cliffs and caves, and keep clear of fenced-off areas to protect themselves and emergency responders.
