💊 Three soldiers treated for viral infection as meningitis ruled out, Eldyk patient stable
Three soldiers who were hospitalised are being treated for a viral infection and do not have meningitis, defence ministry spokesman Christos Pieris confirmed on Friday. Pieris said tests have ruled out meningitis for the three servicemen who were admitted after becoming unwell while serving in the same unit.
A separate Greek forces (Eldyk) soldier remains under treatment for meningitis at Nicosia General Hospital but is reported to be stable and without a fever, Pieris added. The three soldiers from the same unit are expected to be discharged over the coming days once their condition improves and follow-up checks are completed.
