Intense police patrols across Cyprus last night led to the arrest of four people during organized operations aimed at preventing serious crime, maintaining public order and boosting public safety. The detained individuals face charges including assault against a police officer, public nuisance, a knife-related offence and various traffic violations; three vehicles were also retained during the investigations.

During the night 532 vehicles were stopped and 717 drivers and passengers were checked. Officers carried out 52 checks of premises resulting in 13 reports. Traffic enforcement produced 280 citations, 93 for excessive speed. Police conducted 99 breath tests with four drivers testing positive, and six preliminary drug tests with one positive result. The patrols are part of daily intensified policing measures featuring targeted checks and rapid operational action to protect citizens and secure public order.
