🌍 Cyprus opens first-ever Brussels polling station for legislative election

A physical polling station in Brussels is operating for the first time in a Cypriot legislative election, election officials confirmed, marking a milestone for the island’s diaspora. By 12:00 PM Cyprus time turnout reached 20 percent, with 116 of 583 registered electors having cast ballots, and officials described proceedings as smooth and orderly. All prior Belgian voting centers had been limited to presidential ballots.

The Brussels station is the only polling location outside Cyprus this cycle to carry ballot boxes for all six traditional districts — Nicosia, Famagusta, Limassol, Larnaca, Kyrenia and Paphos. Poll workers will conduct six separate counts after polls close; physical voting materials and ballots will then be securely packaged and repatriated to Cyprus, where final results will be officially verified and announced from Nicosia.
