🌍 Elam leader Christos Christou urges turnout as Cyprus voters head to polls

Elam leader Christos Christou urged the public to participate in Sunday’s parliamentary elections after casting his ballot at the Politiko village council office, saying "today is the day when citizens have their say." He said the outcome would determine party strength and the future balance in parliament, adding that Elam was prepared to assume responsibilities and was "ready to take responsibility" based on the mandate it receives. Christou said a stronger parliamentary presence would allow Elam to pursue policy changes and promote "more social and national policies," and noted polling projections that place the party third, positioning it as a potential kingmaker.

Later, Democratic National Movement leader Andreas Themistocleous voted at Ypsonas First primary school in Limassol, calling the vote a "first battle of many to come" and expressing hopes for a Cyprus with greater determination and justice. Archbishop Georgios voted at the Pancyprian gymnasium in Nicosia, described voting as a "sacred right," and urged electing representatives able to cooperate with the executive and move away from populism amid the ongoing Cyprus issue.
