🌍 Turkey's AK Party opens new representative office in Nicosia's old town

Turkey's ruling AK Party has established a new representative office in Nicosia's old town, moving from their previous headquarters in the suburb of Neapolis. The office is located in a recently restored sandstone building near the Selimiye mosque and other key landmarks. The building is owned by the Bullici family, who are charging a monthly rent of £1,800 (€2,082).

Emre Kaya, the AK Party's Cyprus representative, stated the location was chosen for its historical character, prime location, and suitable physical condition. He denied any involvement of Turkey's embassy in the rental process, emphasizing that the party independently selected and finalized the agreement.

The building's current planning permission designates it as a guesthouse, a point Kaya suggested the owner should address. The presence of the party's logo on the building signals its official new base in the city center.
