📰 Cyprus to Launch Upgraded National Supercomputer with NVIDIA Partnership This Month
Cyprus is set to activate its upgraded national supercomputer this month, a major step forward in its high-performance computing capabilities. The government will unveil the new infrastructure at the Presidential Palace during a presentation featuring key figures from the Cyprus Institute and technology partner NVIDIA. The enhanced system will be housed at the Cyprus Institute and provide expanded resources for researchers, universities, public entities, and businesses.
The upgrade broadens Cyprus’s capacity in AI applications, big data analysis, and complex simulations, addressing previously identified gaps in domestic computing power. NVIDIA is contributing expertise, training, and technical support, building on a collaboration initiated through President Nikos Christodoulides's contacts in the US. This initiative complements the broader Pharos-CY project, Cyprus’s AI Factory Antenna, aimed at elevating the country’s role in European AI research and innovation.
