💰 Cyprus economy grows 3.0% in Q1 2026 led by services and construction
Cyprus' economy expanded by 3.0% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the Cyprus Statistical Service. The growth was primarily driven by robust performance in wholesale and retail trade, transportation, tourism, food services, information and communication, and financial and insurance activities. Notably, the information and communication sector saw the largest annual increase of 5.4%, while construction grew by 4.9%. The combined sector encompassing trade, transportation, accommodation, and food services recorded a 4.4% rise. These figures highlight the sustained strength of consumer activity and service-related industries in the Cypriot economy.
