🎉 Kataklysmos Festival in Paphos Leaves Behind Shameful Waste, Stall Operators to Face License Revocation

Following the Kataklysmos festival in Paphos, acting mayor Angelos Onisiforou condemned the extensive litter left behind by stall operators, calling the scenes a disgrace to the city. Photos shared by Onisiforou showed rubbish strewn across pavements, prompting a firm warning that those responsible will not receive operating licenses for next year’s event.

Kataklysmos, also known as the Festival of the Flood, coincides with Pentecost and is celebrated with water-themed festivities and traditional food vendors along the seaside. Despite the lively celebrations over the three-day weekend, the aftermath left Paphos covered in waste, sparking public outcry.

Onisiforou praised municipal staff for their swift cleanup efforts and emphasized the need for respect towards the city. He reiterated that Paphos is not a garbage dump and that the community deserves cleaner, better-maintained public spaces.
