📰 Forestry Department Advises Drivers to Reduce Speed and Exercise Caution to Prevent Wildlife Roadkill

The Forestry Department has urged drivers to reduce their speed outside of daytime hours and be particularly cautious when driving near wildlife-heavy areas. This call aims to prevent roadkill, which poses a significant threat to local biodiversity. To protect animals such as foxes, owls, hedgehogs, and snakes, parts of the forest road network may be temporarily restricted or closed as wildlife search for food, water, and breeding grounds.

The department emphasized that young animals are especially vulnerable during these movements. Drivers are also advised to avoid unnecessary horn use, excessive high beams, and sudden maneuvers when spotting wildlife on the road. Special attention is recommended near forests, streams, agricultural zones, and protected areas to minimize the impact on local fauna.
