💰 Cyprus Finance Minister Supports EU's E6 Initiative to Boost Economic Competitiveness and Strategic Autonomy
Finance Minister Makis Keravnos has expressed support for the E6 initiative led by six EU finance ministers, aimed at enhancing the bloc's competitiveness, resilience, and strategic autonomy. Keravnos, also serving as President of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), highlighted that the initiative is part of broader efforts to mobilise private capital, promote the savings and investment union (SIU), and reduce fragmentation within the EU.
Keravnos emphasized that strengthening the EU's strategic autonomy has been a central focus of the Cyprus Presidency, pursued with consistency and dedication over the past five months. He described the E6 initiative as a valuable addition to European discussions on economic integration and competitiveness.
The initiative aligns with common European objectives and aims to create added value for the entire EU. Keravnos noted that the effort supports ongoing processes to enhance the Union’s economic resilience and strategic capacities.
