💊 Cyprus health sector unions express concern over stalled Okypy collective bargaining talks

Trade unions Pasydy, Sek, Peo, Deok, Pasyki, and Pasyno have voiced deep concern over the lack of progress in renewing the collective bargaining agreement with the state health services provider Okypy. Despite repeated interventions and a constructive approach from the unions, Okypy's board has reportedly refused to engage in meaningful discussions regarding salary prospects, career advancement, and fair employee treatment.

The unions criticized Okypy for refusing to implement pay scales and accused the board of creating conditions of professional stagnation and undermining workplace security. They also highlighted that important terms from previous agreements remain unfulfilled, impacting not only employees but the overall operation of Okypy, with many staff seeking employment elsewhere.

In response, the unions have sent an official letter to Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides urging him to intervene and resolve the deadlock in negotiations. The unions stressed the need for a genuine and productive dialogue to safeguard both staff welfare and the effective functioning of Okypy.
