💰 Moody’s affirms Cyprus credit rating at A3 with stable outlook

On May 29, 2026, Moody’s credit rating agency reaffirmed the Republic of Cyprus’s long-term credit rating at A3, maintaining a stable outlook. This decision highlights the resilience of Cyprus’s economy, attributed to prudent economic policies and government reforms.

Finance Minister Makis Keraunos emphasized that while the rating underlines the country’s economic stability, the government remains attentive to challenges stemming from ongoing geopolitical tensions. He stressed the importance of continuing sound and proactive fiscal policies to preserve the investment-grade rating.

President Christodoulides welcomed the announcement, noting it bolsters market confidence and safeguards the economy against external risks. He reiterated the government’s commitment to targeted social policies supporting the middle class, households, workers, youth, and businesses, aiming to enhance economic resilience and create new opportunities for Cypriot citizens.
