An operative of Hamas residing in Cyprus has been accused by Israeli authorities of masterminding planned terrorist attacks in Israel, leading to the arrest of two individuals. The indictment reveals that 21-year-old H.G. and A.R.H. from East Jerusalem allegedly planned to throw an explosive device at Israeli Defense Forces soldiers near the Anatot military base.

Israeli prosecutors state that H.G. communicated with a relative in Cyprus, identified as a Hamas operative, and undertook intelligence-gathering activities including photographing military checkpoints and collecting information about Israeli Air Force cadets staying at a hotel in Jerusalem. The accused reportedly expressed willingness to carry out attacks himself if given more preparation time.

Both suspects are facing charges including conspiracy to commit terrorist acts, transmission of information to enemy forces, and weapons offenses. Israeli prosecutors have requested that they remain in custody throughout the judicial proceedings.
