👮 Police arrest 10 individuals during nationwide night patrols in Cyprus
The Cyprus Police conducted intense patrols across urban areas nationwide last night, resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals for various offenses including assault, threats, illegal possession, and carrying weapons. These preventive operations aimed to curb serious crimes, maintain public order, and enhance citizens' sense of security.
During the night, authorities stopped and checked 637 drivers and 291 passengers. They also carried out 37 inspections of commercial premises, leading to six violations being reported. Traffic enforcement resulted in 337 citations, notably 195 for speeding, and 14 cases under further investigation. Additionally, 10 vehicles were impounded, five drivers were fined for alcohol offenses, and another five tested positive in preliminary drug screenings.
The police have emphasized that these operations will continue daily with enhanced presence, targeted checks, and swift action to protect the public and uphold law and order across Cyprus.
