The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre introduced a new PET/CT service on Wednesday, enhancing capabilities in cancer diagnosis and treatment evaluation. This state-of-the-art technology combines positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) to provide precise cancer localization and monitor treatment efficacy. It is deemed as the most sophisticated PET/CT technology available in Cyprus and represents a substantial improvement in patient care offered by the center. The general manager, Panos Ergatoudes, emphasized that this development significantly expands the centre's patient care services. The project was largely funded by an anonymous donor, significantly contributing to cancer care advancement and public health in Cyprus. The integration of the PET/CT unit into the centre's routine oncology services is anticipated shortly.
