The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has initiated a public consultation regarding proposed amendments to the fee structure for the collective investment management sector. The suggested changes involve revising charges for management companies and investment funds, with fees up to €45,000 based on the entity's type, size, and category. The new fees aim to reflect more accurately the nature and complexity of the supervised entities' activities. Additionally, the amendments will adjust the methodology for calculating annual fees and alter other fees including authorisation application charges and costs related to significant entity changes. The changes are part of a broader effort to reduce reliance on public funding and enhance the financial independence of the regulator.
