🎉 27 Cypriot Schools Receive Green Flag Award for Sustainability Efforts
In a prestigious ceremony on May 26, 2026, 27 out of 168 schools participating in Cyprus's Eco-Schools programme were honored with the Green Flag for their consistent and measurable environmental initiatives over the past three years. The event, overseen by the Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare, Antonia Theodosiou, recognizes schools that demonstrate substantial progress in sustainability, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The programme, run by CYMEPA in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and supported for 28 years by Eurobank, highlights the extensive efforts in environmental education across Cyprus. Commissioner Theodosiou praised the program as a critical educational tool for developing interdisciplinary approaches and fostering a sustainable mindset among students and educators alike.
