🎉 Nicosia Museum Rooftop Transforms into Film Club for Three Nights
The rooftop of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nicosia is set to host a unique film club event for three consecutive evenings. Curated by Róisín Tapponi, founder of Shasha Movies, the event titled Only Terrestrial will feature artist films and videos from the Middle East, North Africa, Greece, and Cyprus. Scheduled from Thursday to Saturday, the screenings correlate with the themes of the ongoing museum exhibition 'Agropoetics: soils/bodies'.
The three-day screening program explores memory, displacement, collective identity, and land attachments through a mix of essay films, political documentaries, and personal portraits. Each evening begins at 8pm, including pre-screening introductions by Tapponi. The event aims to enhance the understanding of regional art cinema, paralleling the current exhibition which is part of Cyprus’ cultural program during its EU Council Presidency. The screenings are free to attend, offering a distinct cultural experience on the museum’s rooftop terrace.
