🛩️ Scheduled passenger ferry service between Cyprus and Lebanon to commence June 9 after nearly 20 years
A regular passenger ferry service linking Cyprus and Lebanon will begin operation on June 9, marking the return of scheduled international ferry routes from Lebanon for the first time in almost two decades. Operated by Lebanese company Cedar Waves, the ferry will connect Jounieh port in Lebanon with Larnaca in Cyprus, with crossings lasting just under four hours.
The ferry, named Cedar Waves and flagged in San Marino, can carry up to 90 passengers per trip. It will depart Jounieh every Wednesday and Sunday at 9am, and Fridays at 10am, arriving in Larnaca shortly before 1pm Beirut time. Ticket prices start at approximately €88 for standard seating, making it a cost-effective alternative to flights that can reach €160–€235 during peak seasons.
The new service is expected to cater to both tourists and business travelers, capitalizing on the strong travel demand between the two countries. Cyprus regularly attracts around 100,000 Lebanese visitors annually during the summer, and the ferry offers greater luggage flexibility and a unique Mediterranean travel experience compared to air travel.
