🏗️ Polis Chrysochous-Stroumbi road expected to be completed by 2026, Transport Minister announces
Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades announced that the Polis Chrysochous-Stroumbi road is expected to be completed by 2026, with the Polis Chrysochous-Stroumbi road potentially finished within this year. The announcement came during a meeting that also addressed the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous highway and the planned expansion of Latsi port.
Vafeades detailed that the technical evaluation for phase A of the highway project is underway, aiming for swift decisions to advance the project. The expropriation process for phase B is ongoing, and construction timelines will depend on tender evaluations and board decisions. The Cyprus Ports Authority is awaiting environmental approvals before proceeding with the €50 million Latsi port expansion, which will increase harbour capacity and develop new onshore infrastructure.
Polis Chrysochous mayor Giotis Papachristofi highlighted the regional significance of these projects, noting their potential to revitalize the area economically and demographically, which currently has an aging population in surrounding villages.
