Ronald Parys and Irene Hughes from Northern Ireland have been honoured as Ayia Napa's tourism ambassadors following 35 visits to the resort town. The couple received the distinction during a ceremony at Ayia Napa town hall, where they were awarded a commemorative plaque and the official Tourism Ambassador emblem.

The municipal authorities praised the couple for their loyalty and contribution to promoting Ayia Napa as a preferred holiday destination. Deputy Mayor Antonis Christou conveyed the municipality’s gratitude, describing the couple as "residents of Ayia Napa" due to their long-standing connection with the area.

The award highlights the municipality’s appreciation for loyal visitors who support the local tourism industry through repeat visits, reflecting the importance of such sustained commitment to the town's economy and international reputation.
